Registry Hub

How can we simplify the process of Meaningful Use data submission?

The Problem:

Stage 2 Meaningful Use requires successful ongoing submission of Immunization, Reportable Labs and Syndromic Surveillance data to state agencies, but HL7 messages from vendor EHRs are generally not accepted without modification and a lengthy testing/approval process.

The Solution:

Dynamic Health IT (DHIT) offers a Registry Hub that transforms and delivers these messages. The Hub simplifies the process of submission to state agencies by providing a single point of entry for any client, regardless of location, thereby eliminating the need for a complex series of parallel connections to each state. Registry Hub unburdens EHs and EPs from having to customize HL7 messages for each state.

Registry Hub will enable client certification on the following Meaningful Use requirements:

  • Stage 1, EH Menu #8: Capability to submit data to immunization registries or immunization information systems
  • Stage 1, EH Menu #9: Reportable Lab Results to Public Health Agencies
  • Stage 1, EH Menu #10: Capability to submit syndromic surveillance data to public health agencies
  • Stage 1, EP Menu #8: Capability to submit data to immunization registries or immunization information systems
  • Stage 1, EP Menu #9: Capability to submit syndromic surveillance data to public health agencies
  • Stage 2, EH Core #13: Successful ongoing submission of immunization data
  • Stage 2, EH Core #14: Reportable Lab Results to Public Health Agencies
  • Stage 2, EH Core #15: Capability to submit electronic syndromic surveillance data to public health agencies
  • Stage 2, EP Core #16: Successful ongoing submission of immunization data
  • Stage 2, EP Menu #1: Capability to submit electronic syndromic surveillance data to public health agencies

Connection to Registry Hub also enables client certification on ONC measures:

  • 170.314(f) (2) - Transmission to Immunization Registries
  • 170.314(f) (3) - Transmission to Public Health Agencies - Syndromic Surveillance
  • 170.314(f) (4) - Inpatient setting only - transmission of reportable laboratory tests and values/results

Registry Hub offers client-server and cloud-hosted versions. The Hub Agent is installed at each client site, gathers messages and securely transmits either to the DHIT cloud server or a client server destination via Web Services, FTP or TCP/IP. Registry Hub will accept and transform messages on that server, routing messages to the appropriate registry according to each state's protocol and business rules.

In the near future, the Registry Hub will expand to handle Cancer Registry submission, Reportable Labs and other Public Health reporting.
